This is my first ever blog post. I am a media specialist in a middle school, and decided I needed to take the plunge. Although we have a very young staff, very few of our teachers use Web 2.0 tools. I view this as a leadership opportunity. I'd love to see our teachers using the latest tools with their students, modeling the different applications and their uses. Many of the teachers believe that the students are more savvy than they are, and so choose not to use these tools. As the media specialist, I find this isn't true. Most of the students have no idea how to effectively use more traditional Web tools, let alone Web 2.0. I'm excited at this new opportunity!
